Each year a doubles tournament is held by the league. Two players from each team is allowed to enter. The players are selected by the team and generally are the players who were rated the second & third best over the year in the league and cup. This however is not compulsory and teams can select their players as they see fit. The reigning champions from the previous season are invited to play once they are still associated with the same club. If you play in singles competition  you are not allowed to play doubles.
